The Spud and Tater Project was created to help families of babies in the NICU at UCSF Children’s Hospital in honor of the care that Elsie (Spud) and Emmy (Tater) recieved. Elsie and Emmy were born at 30 weeks and five days. They spent almost the first two months of their life in the NICU. Although their parents couldn’t do everything a Mommy and Daddy could do in the NICU, they were able to use blankets and beanies that famiy and friends had given them. The project aims to deliver beanies (handmade, bought or gently used) in February and blankets (handmade, bought or gently used) in August.
